Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DeCA ("the Protocol," "we," "our," or "us") is a decentralized, non-custodial trading protocol that operates entirely on blockchain technology. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you access or use the DeCA website, interface, smart contracts, or any other related services (collectively, "the Services").

Because DeCA is a decentralized protocol, we do not collect, store, or control personal data in the traditional sense. Your interaction with DeCA occurs directly on-chain, through your self-custodied wallet, without intermediaries.

By using DeCA, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of the Services immediately.

2. Nature of DeCA as a Decentralized Protocol

DeCA operates through smart contracts deployed on public blockchains. These smart contracts are open source, permissionless, and autonomous. DeCA does not maintain or control any centralized servers that store user information. All transactions, trading activities, and ownership records are executed and recorded transparently on-chain, where they are publicly viewable and immutable.

As a result:

  • DeCA does not have the ability to delete, modify, or obscure blockchain data.

  • All information recorded on the blockchain is inherently public and cannot be considered private.

3. Information We May Process

DeCA does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or government IDs. However, certain data may be processed automatically when you use the DeCA website or protocol.

3.1. Blockchain Data

When interacting with DeCA, you use a blockchain wallet (such as MetaMask or WalletConnect). Your wallet address, transaction history, and on-chain activity are public by nature. This information is not collected or stored by DeCA, but it is visible to anyone inspecting the blockchain.

Blockchain data may include:

  • Wallet address (public key)

  • Token balances

  • Transaction hashes

  • Smart contract interactions

  • Positions and trades executed on DeCA

DeCA does not link this information to any personal identity.

3.2. Technical Information

When you access the DeCA website or user interface, certain limited technical data may be collected automatically for analytics, performance optimization, or security purposes. This may include:

  • IP address (anonymized where possible)

  • Browser type and version

  • Operating system

  • Device type

  • Referring and exit pages

  • Date and time of access

  • Aggregated website usage statistics

We use this data solely to improve the user experience, ensure security, and monitor platform performance. We do not combine it with on-chain or personal data.

3.3. Voluntarily Provided Information

If you contact us directly (for example, through email, feedback forms, or social media), we may receive information such as your name, contact details, and message content. This information is used only for responding to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties except where legally required.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

DeCA may use minimal cookies or similar technologies to ensure proper website functionality and measure aggregate traffic metrics. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising, user profiling, or tracking personal activity across third-party sites.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time, although this may affect website performance.

5. Data Storage and Retention

DeCA does not maintain centralized databases that store personal data. All trading-related information is executed and stored on the blockchain, which is immutable and not under DeCA’s control.

For the limited off-chain information that may be collected (for example, analytics data or contact inquiries), we retain such data only for as long as necessary to fulfill its purpose and comply with applicable legal obligations.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any off-chain data we may process from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, users should understand that:

  • Blockchain transactions are irreversible and publicly visible.

  • No electronic system or data transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

  • Users are solely responsible for safeguarding their wallet credentials, private keys, and recovery phrases.

DeCA cannot recover or restore access to any lost wallet or private key.

7. Third-Party Services

DeCA may integrate or rely on third-party services such as:

  • Wallet connection providers (e.g., WalletConnect, MetaMask)

  • Analytics or performance monitoring tools (e.g., Google Analytics or equivalent)

  • Decentralized oracles and blockchain networks

These third parties may process data according to their own privacy policies, which are independent of DeCA. We do not control or assume responsibility for their data practices. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of these third parties before engaging with them.

8. Children’s Privacy

DeCA is not directed toward or intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will take appropriate steps to delete it from our systems (to the extent possible, given the decentralized nature of our platform).

9. Your Rights and Choices

Because DeCA does not store personal data in a centralized manner, traditional data protection rights (such as access, correction, or deletion requests) may not apply.

However, users may:

  • Disconnect their wallet from the DeCA interface at any time.

  • Clear browser cookies and local storage data.

  • Cease using the platform entirely.

All on-chain data associated with your wallet will remain visible on the blockchain and cannot be altered or deleted by DeCA or any other party.

10. International Use

DeCA operates globally through open-source smart contracts and interfaces accessible from multiple jurisdictions. By using DeCA, you acknowledge that blockchain transactions and related data may be processed and stored across decentralized networks worldwide. Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of DeCA complies with the laws and regulations of their own jurisdiction.

The DeCA website or interface may contain links to external websites, applications, or content operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such external sites. Users should review the privacy policies of those third parties before engaging with them.

12. Policy Updates

We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, technology, or applicable regulations. When changes occur, the updated version will be published on our website with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services after the posting of updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Contact Information

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you may contact us at:

Please note that due to the decentralized nature of DeCA, we may not be able to directly modify or delete on-chain data.

By accessing or using DeCA, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the platform constitutes your consent to the processing and disclosure of information as described herein.
